Before beginning a class remember:

Yoga is for anyone regardless of age or ability.  Know that what you put into your yoga practice is what you will get out of it.  Stay at your level.  Listen to your body and only go to it's limits.

There will be a registration form to fill out your first time practicing.  Please allow yourself 5-10 minutes beforehand to fill this out.  You can then communicate any medical conditions you may have so that modifications may be given.

If you have a pre-exsting medical condition please ask permission from your doctor before you add yoga to your regime.

Try to eat 1-2 hours before class or have a light snack.  If your body is digesting too much food during practice you will be uncomfortable.

Wear loose comfortable clothing and have a yoga mat or towel for your practice.

Developing a Home Practice Workshop - September

Do you want more yoga classes but don't have the time or money to invest in classes daily?

A daily practice is something you should invest in and the place to begin is at home.  In this workshop I will teach you how to incorporate a daily practice, what to include in your practice and why.  By the end of this workshop you will feel comfortable putting down your mat and getting a daily mind, body, soul practice.

Introduction to the Principles of Partner Yoga

Friday, October 3rd,  6:30-8:00 pm,  $45

Using a wide range of postures and practices, this workshop shows us how to maintain connection to ourselves while relating to others.  Learn how to use the presence and energy of others to deepen your self awareness.  Learn how to use gravity, leverage and partner traction to move more deeply into poses.  Discover how to apply Partner Yoga principles such as presence, touch, grounding and trust in both postures and in life.

This workshop offers everyone – with or without a partner – with or without prior Yoga practice – an extraordinary experience of expansion and trust through connecting with others.

Deepening your Practice with Partner Yoga

Saturday, October 4th,   10 am to 1 pm,   $45

This workshop builds a bridge between individual practice and partner practice th

rough the use of Vinyasa, assisting techniques and mirrored postures.  We will explore how to use Partner practices to deepen your understanding of both posture and relating to others.

This class is suitable for those with or without prior Yoga experience.

Partner Yoga is a wonderful entry for those who’ve experienced difficulty entering into an individual Yoga Practice.

The Joy of Flying

In Partner Yoga postures, there is always a point of balance and stillness in which we can rest – even in the most challenging postures.  Learn to safely navigate yourself and your partner in aerial postures.  We will learn step-by-step how to enter into the powerful flying posture sequences.  These postures are instrumental in overcoming physical and emotional limitations and learning to trust ourselves and each other.

Previous Partner Yoga experience required.

 _______________________________________________

Because of Partner Yoga's creative and evolving nature, it is important that it be understood and experienced from principles rather than from postures. When we practice from postures alone, the practice is confined to the form. When we practice from principles, we create a living metaphor for seeing ourselves in relationship.

November is the month of giving to others and to count our blessings.   Let us support Echo Farms.  It is a local non-profit organization that works to fight world hunger.  They offer workshops to help YOU farm as well as teach others how to farm in different conditions, no matter the weather or space you have. Anything you buy from Echo Farms, whether it be a plant, seed, or book goes right back towards helping others get fed.

Pay for any individual drop-in class ($12 value) anytime in the month of November (packages can be put on hold) and that money will go directly to  Echo Farms and their mission of education and sucessful ecological resource use.

Hopefully we can raise some money for this wonderful cause and to use their learning materials in the meantime!

Some examples of your giving:  $25 is the gift of a new crop / $50 is the gift of a new tree / $100 is the gift of education

Special Holiday Yoga class w/Crystal Bowls - December 2nd, 2008   -  7:00-8:15pm

Join us in this magnificent holiday added class!

We will have a regular mixed level Asana yoga class where Robert Austin will join us and play his crystal bowls throughout, softly.  The last 10-15 minutes during Savasana he will play them louder to penetrate the body.

Due to the crystalline nature of the human body and its ability to resonate with specific frequencies, we can benefit from pure tones.  One reason the pure tones vibrate our body is that it has a natural affinity to quartz.  The human body is made up of many crystalline substances, the bones, blood and DNA are crystalline in structure as well as the liquid crystal-colloidal structure of the brain.  Even on a molecular level, our cells contain silica which balances our electromagnetic energies and this is the same substance found in quartz crystal.
