Yoga for Boaters

Practice yoga on your boat! 

  • Let me come aboard your boat and show you postures/stretches that can be done safely and effectively while at anchor or at port.
  • Boating puts many strains on the body due to common tasks.  The tying up of lines, washing the sides of your boat, setting the anchor, wrestling a mooring ball line, or jumping from the boat onto the dock are examples of these tasks.
  • What is happening to your body during boating:
    • Compression of the spine
    • Joints are strained
    • Mobility is decreased
    • Use of one side of the body more than the other, causes an overall unbalanced state
